City Thameslink Station Upgrade including Earthing and Bonding

View on Map

Introduced in 1988, the Thameslink service made it possible to cross central London by train without using London Underground. The Thameslink services have been highly successful, experiencing the highest level of growth of all London commuter train operators and subsequently there has been significant overcrowding as a result of this. The Thameslink Programme (TLP) is to increase accessibility to, from and through the heart of London providing an increase in capacity, delivering a 12-car capability at St Pancras Thameslink, Farringdon, Blackfriars and a number of outer stations between Bedford, Brighton and Dartford. The Railway route is being upgraded and the dual electrified area has been extended from Farringdon Station to the South End of City Thameslink Station with upgraded earthing and bonding systems being required as a result of these works.
